Famers are facing a series of challenges maintaining family-owned farms, including rising costs and private equity firms buying up large amounts of land – pricing farmers out of ownership. Today, fewer young farmers are pursuing agriculture careers because of it.

Washington, D.C. – Today, the House unanimously passed Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (VA-04) and Congressman Neal Dunn (FL-02)’s H.R. 7386, the First Responder Network Authority Reauthorization Act. The bill extends through 2037 legal authority for FirstNet, a wireless communications network used by public safety agencies and first responders to coordinate during emergencies. The bill also improves transparency and oversight and removes barriers to rapid response.

Black Maternal Health Week, from April 11 to 17, marks a time to raise awareness to the fact that Black women face higher risks of maternal death, stillbirths, preterm births and pregnancy-related complications.
