Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (VA-04) and Congressman Jay Obernolte (CA-23) introduced H.R. 7783, the AI-Ready Networks Act, a bipartisan bill which prompts the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to issue a forward-looking report on the integration of artificial intelligence into commercial telecommunications networks across the country.

Over the weekend, the Trump Administration unilaterally authorized U.S. armed forces to join Israeli forces to launch a “massive and ongoing” military campaign in Iran without Congressional approval, killing Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran retaliated by attacking Israel and Middle Eastern countries that host U.S. military bases.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (VA-04) issued the following statement after the Trump Administration launched a “massive and ongoing” military campaign in Iran without Congressional approval:

“Without evidence of an imminent threat, the Trump Administration should refrain from major military action. These latest strikes in Iran without Congressional approval risk throwing the region into chaos and put our servicemembers in harm’s way without a clear long-term strategy.

Washington, D.C. – In case you missed it: The House unanimously passed H.R. 390, the Advanced Capabilities for Emergency Response Operations (ACERO) Act, co-led by Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (VA-04). In January 2025, McClellan joined Congressman Vince Fong (R-CA-20) to reintroduce this bipartisan legislation authorizing NASA’s ACERO project to use drones to fight wildfires, including in low-visibility conditions when manned aircraft are unable to mobilize.

Three Virginians who are struggling to afford health care after President Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress refused to extend an enhanced federal health insurance subsidy attended Trump’s State of the Union address on Feb. 24 as guests of Democratic lawmakers.

Rena Bumbray-Graves of Woodbridge, Lester Johnson of Richmond, and Becky Winstead-Roberts of Virginia Beach said they hoped that their presence in the chamber of the House of Representatives might spotlight the consequences of Republican policies for real people.
