The House returned to Washington after the Thanksgiving holiday with a lot to do and very little time. Three items remain left to do in the 118th Congress: The Fiscal Year 2025 National National Defense Authorization Act (FY25 NDAA), the Farm Bill, and funding the government beyond December 20th.
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (VA-04) urged Congress to protect vulnerable Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) families. In a letter to House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food and Drug Administration Chair Andy Harris (MD-01) and Ranking Member Sanford Bishop (GA-02), McClellan called for an extension to the SNAP benefit replacement authority.
The House returned to session for two jam-packed weeks before the Thanksgiving recess.

We still have a lot to tackle before the end of the year, including the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), an extension of the Farm Bill, and our annual appropriations bills. As you may recall, government funding was extended through December 20th, so that is our new deadline to pass spending bills before a government shutdown.
