McClellan Statement on the Passage of Foreign Aid Supplemental Funding Packages

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (VA-04) issued the following statement on the passage of national security and foreign aid supplemental funding bills in the House of Representatives: 

“We are at a critical moment as we witness growing international conflicts and rising aggression against our global allies and partners. The world is watching the United States for our response. While House Republicans wasted months dragging their feet and prioritizing pointless, partisan messaging bills, House Democrats stood ready to pass a robust supplemental aid package.

"Today, the House stood up for democracy over tyranny, sending a message to the world that we stand with our allies when they face existential threats. We sent a message to Russia, China, and Iran that we will stand against their aggression, not appease it. We will provide humanitarian aid to innocent civilians in crisis who need it in Gaza, Sudan, Haiti, and elsewhere."
