McClellan Delivers Nearly $1 Million to Surry County
Federal Funding Will Upgrade Water Infrastructure at the Surry County School Complex
Surry, VA – Today, Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (VA-04) traveled to Surry County to deliver $959,752 in federal community project funding to support the county’s Water System Upgrade Project. The project will replace and upgrade water wells and water infrastructure at the Surry County School Complex.
The Water System Upgrade Project will help replace and upgrade water wells at the Surry County School Complex, where the county’s three schools are located. These upgrades will empower Surry County to meet its current needs and expand its capacity for future demands,” said Congresswoman McClellan. “I thank my local partners in Surry County for their efforts, and I look forward to our continued collaboration.”
“The Surry County Board of Supervisors is committed to expanding and enhancing the infrastructure of Surry County. Our Combined Water System project will foster economic development by upgrading our water systems increasing water capacity, which will ultimately support rural economic development,” said Robert L. Elliott, Chairman of the Surry County Board of Supervisors. “Many thanks to Congresswoman McClellan, her staff, and county staff for the work done to improve our great county.”
