McClellan Announces USDA Loan & Grant Award for Greensville County
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (VA-04) announced awards from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Water and Waste Disposal Loans and Grants for Greensville County Water and Sewer Authority.
Greensville will receive $4,204,000 total – a $4,174,000 loan and a $30,000 grant award. The federal funds will help upgrade and improve the county water distribution system, which is currently operating with lines dating back to the mid-1930’s.
“Every Virginian deserves access to safe, reliable water sources; however, too many rural localities deal with outdated, aging infrastructure systems,” said Congresswoman McClellan. “I am thrilled Greensville County was selected for this federal funding to modernize its water distribution system, which will enhance services to over 1,300 residents. I will continue fighting in Congress to ensure our rural communities have access to the resources and federal support they need to succeed in our 21st century economy.”
