Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (VA-04) issued the following statement after she voted against a House Republican continuing resolution to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), for 60 days:
For over a month, the Department of Homeland Security has been subject to a partial government shutdown. Congressional Republicans let funding lapse for DHS rather than adopt common-sense reforms to protect individual constitutional rights and address the public safety crisis created by overly aggressive and poorly trained ICE and Border Patrol agents.
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (VA-04) and Congressman Neal Dunn (FL-02)’s bill, H.R. 7386, unanimously advanced out of the Energy & Commerce Committee, where it now heads to the House floor for a vote.
