Tours and Tickets – Office of Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan

My office can assist with obtaining tickets to the United States Capitol, the White House, the FBI Experience, and the United States Treasury. All tickets are free and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the large number of visitors, we request that tour inquiries are made at your earliest possible convenience. For more information on the tours available through my office, please see the menu below.

Many other sites and attractions in Washington, D.C. offer free, self-access tickets and reservations. Please visit Washington, D.C. Tourist Attractions for more information on these locations when planning your visit to our nation’s capital.

The United States Capitol

The Capitol Visitors Center (CVC) offers tours Monday through Saturday from 8:50am-3:30pm. Tours begin every ten minutes and are led by professional CVC tour guides.

On a limited basis you can request a tour led by a member of my staff. These tours follow the same route as those led by a CVC tour guide. Staff-led tours are limited to 15 participants. To request a staff-led tour, please include that you would like a staff-led tour in the “Comments” section of the tour request form.

Gallery Passes

Passes to the House of Representatives Gallery are available to constituents for pick-up in my Washington, DC office. These passes allow visitors to view the House Floor from an upper seating area. Prior registration is not required to obtain House Gallery passes.

The Gallery is open when the House of Representatives is in session (i.e. when action is occurring on the House Floor). Additionally, when the House is out of session, the House Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9:00am-4:00pm. Please note that the House Gallery may be subject to additional closures at the discretion of the House of Representatives.

The White House

White House tour requests must be submitted through a Member of Congress. Requests must be submitted a minimum of 21 days in advance and no more than 90 days in advance of the requested tour date. Tours are typically available from 8:00am-12:30pm Tuesday through Saturday, excluding federal holidays or unless otherwise noted. Please note that if the White House approves your tour request, the White House determines the time of your tour.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation

The FBI Experience offers self-guided tours of the FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC. Tour requests must be submitted through a Member of Congress. The tours are offered Monday through Friday from 9:00am-2:00pm. FBI Headquarter tour requests must be submitted at least 4 weeks in advance and no more than 5 months in advance of your requested tour date.

Please note that at the time of requesting the tour, my office will need to obtain sensitive information from you for each member of your group. This information is used for security purposes by the FBI. A member of my staff will reach out with additional information if you are interested in a tour of the FBI Headquarters.

The United States Treasury

Tours of the United States Treasury are available by request through my office. Tours are offered on the 1st and the 3rd Saturdays of the month, excluding some holiday weekends. Docents conduct tours at 9 am and 10:30 am, each lasting about an hour. Fifteen people can attend each tour. Please note that space is limited and advance notice is required to request a tour of the Treasury.

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing

Tours of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington, DC are offered Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays, from 10am, 11am, 1pm, and 2pm. Tickets are required to attend the tour. They can be picked up on a first-come, first-served basis at 8am at the Tour and Visitor Center entrance of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Currently, tickets are limited to four per person and cannot be reserved.

Additionally, congressional offices can request tour tickets on behalf of constituents. Congressional tours of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing are at 8:15am and 8:45am. Please be aware that congressional offices are currently limited to 10 or less tickets per day. Congressional tour requests must be submitted at least 14 days and no more than 6 months in advance.

    Constituents who are hard of hearing or use a video phone have the option to choose TDD or VP based on the type of device they are using. This allows our office to respond to them accordingly. The default option 'Voice' is a standard audible telephone.





    Tour Information























    Please choose three dates everyone in your party is available to tour the White House. Tours are available Tuesday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and Friday and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The tours are self-guided.

    White House tours may be submitted up to 6 months in advance, but no later than 3 weeks before the requested tour date.

    Each person in your tour party must submit security information to the White House via a link they provide.
