Women of Excellence Awards

Congresswoman McClellan invites constituents of the Fourth Congressional District to nominate extraordinary women and organizations in order to celebrate all of the meaningful contributions they make to our communities. These awards are open to nominees that reside, study, work in, or provide services to the Fourth Congressional District of Virginia.
The nomination categories are:
- Businesswoman of the Year
- Non-Profit of the Year
- For non-profits who work to address women’s issues and/or meet the needs of women and/or girls in our community.
- The Women of Impact in Education Award
- Women in Action Volunteer Award
- The Dr. Glady West Women in STEM Award
- Dr. Gladys Mae West is a mathematician and Dinwiddie County native who is known as a “hidden figure” in the development of the Global Positioning System (GPS).
- Law & Government Champion Award
- Media & Communications Champion Award
To nominate:
- Identify a woman or organization that you feel deserves recognition for all of the work they do.
- Submit the following materials:
- Nomination form (attached below)
- One page maximum biography of your nominee
- Any supplemental materials
- A photo of your nominee

The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, March 7, 2025. You may submit via email to VA04_Projects@mail.house.gov. You may also submit nominations via mail or in person to our Richmond (11 S. 12th Street, Richmond, VA 23219) or Brunswick (100 Athletic Field Road, Lawrenceville, VA 23868) District Offices.
