McClellan Statement on the Passing of Jim Holland
Richmond, VA – Today, Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (VA-04) issued the following statement about the passing of Dale District Supervisor James M. “Jim” Holland:
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Supervisor James M. “Jim” Holland. Chesterfield County and our Commonwealth have lost a passionate advocate and impactful leader.
“Jim spent his life in service to others, as a U.S. Army veteran, deacon and Sunday school teacher, a Certified Public Accountant, Virginia Commonwealth University professor, member of the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors, a representative for Chesterfield County in countless local and regional partnerships, and through appointments under every Virginia governor for the last 18 years.
“Jim approached every position with a sense of service and commitment to others. His ongoing service on the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors helped shepherd his community through times of uncertainty and usher in periods of incredible economic development and success.
“As his Congresswoman, I have worked with Jim and seen firsthand his love and commitment to his constituents. Jim had a profound and lasting impact on Chesterfield County and our Commonwealth. His steady leadership and unwavering service will be sorely missed. He fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.
“I send my deepest condolences and prayers to his wife Judith, his children Jessica and James, his family, friends and colleagues in Chesterfield County government and beyond.”
